Atal Incubation Centre, a Goa-based Startup Incubator, in collaboration with WazirX, the country’s largest crypto exchange, and web 3.0 incubator Buidlers Tribe unveiled Blockchain Accelerator Program for Indian blockchain developers and founders.
The web 3.0 accelerator program will be conducted at Atal Incubation Center (AIC), Goa Institute of Management (GIM), starting 20th April 2022, with the capacity of up to 40 web3 builders (developers). Further admissions will be made based on slots available. The mission of this initiative is to enable Indian blockchain talent to build their dream web 3.0 projects. Goa is a rising state with the country’s highest per-capita income as per the Economic Survey of Delhi (2021-22). Amid the covid-19 forced lockdown, Goa has observed a massive inflow of talent and working professionals. The above set of data makes the state an attractive region to become a successful blockchain hub. According to a NASSCOM and WazirX report, blockchain-powered business and other Web3-led projects will generate 800,000 jobs by 2030.
Pareen Lathia, co-founder, Buidlers Tribe who has been assisting India-based web3 projects to raise funds believes that India has been leading in the Web3 segment. India is blessed with the largest blockchain developer base in the world and this puts us at the global center stage. Internationally, our work is already being appreciated for our participation in the Web3 ecosystem. The Goa Blockchain hub expects to leverage these opportunities and equip deep-tech blockchain startups with technical know-how, accreditation, and policy support from the government. We want to provide such training to more Web3 enthusiasts and pioneers across the country in the coming months.
Deliberating the blockchain accelerator program, Rajesh Joshi, CEO, Atal Incubation Centre, GIM, stated, “The blockchain park in Goa will offer developers high-end infrastructure and technical support. This initiative will catalyze the establishment of a first-class and holistic training ecosystem. Our mission is to provide an impetus to our state economy and employment creation. Entrepreneurs who are exploring blockchain-based solutions will no longer have to leave the state to pursue their dreams”.
Aritra Sarkhel who leads Public Policy and Government Affairs for WazirX sees a robust blockchain and web3 ecosystem for startups is inevitable in India. This will support India to lead the global web3 industry soon which also propels job opportunities and revenue collection.
He further added that the objective is to make Goa a pioneer state in this emerging technology-related field. We are ready to provide world-class training, devices, and early-stage funding opportunities to our country’s web3 talent so that they can build it in India and offer innovative solutions internationally.
WazirX and Buidlers Tribe have a dedicated capital pool from the web 3.0 investors that will help to boost this accelerator program.
On top of that, the AIC GIM has agreed to assist with the necessary compliance and policy framework; Buidlers Tribe will support the accelerator program and provide its exclusive expertise, training, mentorship, and web 3.0 market assistance for impactful solutions. WazirX will lead entrepreneurs to recognize the value catalysts of this innovative technology and offer them the practical understanding to build world-class projects.
Applications are available for recent graduates irrespective of their education stream, web 3.0 start-ups, and blockchain developers.
